After a string of electronic albums, for 2010 we dived back into our passion for the blues with a second, stronger collection of blues songs, including the fantastic singles "Green Tea" and "Scarlett O'Hara", the deeply heartfelt "No Strings" and the ornery petulance of "Come In Number One", and a series of instrumental jams.

The full download includes several previously unreleased demo tracks from the Mr Charisma sessions, a quirky track previously published to Soundcloud followers (though thankfully a much shorter version of it this time), and 2015's blues-rock-jam session, "More E, Vicar?". Full artwork is also included.

My god, you’re full of stars I’m gonna drink dry them Jita bars Cos outside is so deranged I’m thinking that it’s all the rage And here you let me wait it out Stealing my heart, you freighted out But I don’t hate you like I used to I can’t be all on my own My futures are afraid And I fly away (I came align on a Sunday) I was too young to die (I came align on a Sunday) You left me here to die (I came align on a Sunday) My heart was built like a tank (I came align on a Sunday) But this was one big suicide gank Undock my vanity I’m done relive 4-4 profanity You might say oh I’m loving this But it’s like the black hole in your kiss And here you let me wait it out Stole my heart then you freighted out But I don’t hate you like I used to I can’t be all on my own My futures are afraid And I fly away (I came align on a Sunday) I was too young to die (I came align on a Sunday) You left me here to die (I came align on a Sunday) My heart was built like my tank (I came align on a Sunday) So this was one big suicide gank

Green Tea 03:23
I listen to myself and all I can hear Is salutations that you’re sore You’re sayin’ nothing but you’re so outspoken You look upset and now it hastens my fear That love and hate is still a chore You flow hot and cold and the boiler’s broken She’s drinking green tea It means she loves me She’s drinking red wine Oh she’s happy and fine Here, have a glass of wine You can’t imagine all strings I should pull With your moods a-changin’ by the hour All I can say is you can’t drag me down I’m not upset and my wine cellar is full For when all your apples have turned sour Carafe it gently, then dive in and drown She’s drinking green tea It means she loves me, yeah She’s drinking red wine Then she’s happy and fine Here, baby, come on, let’s have a glass of wine Don’t ever underestimate The power of grape Infusions of revitillusion You never know when you need a lift She’s drinking green tea It means she loves me, yeah She’s drinking red wine Oh she’s happy and fine Here, baby, why you don’t have another glass of wine? She’s drinking green tea It means she loves me, yeah She’s drinking green tea She’s drinking red wine Then we’s happy and fine Here, baby, let’s have another a glass of wine She’s drinking green tea It means she loves me, yeah Have a glass of wine Try a glass of wine

I won’t be angry, I won’t fight I won’t rebel, I will be good I’ll stay out of sight I’ll enter the priesthood She drives me to drink But frankly, my dear, I don’t give a shit She wants to be like Scarlett O’Hara I can’t go my whole life waiting to catch you She wants to be like Scarlett O’Hara I can’t go my whole life waiting to catch you My love I’m turning the page, got to get down and pray Tomorrow’s another day I’m gonna quit I run like a monk, I keep kicking the habit It drives me to drink But frankly, my dear, I don’t give a shit She wants to be like— No man is the safe, all the trouble, all the strife She wants to be like— Well now, she can be someone else’s wife She wants to be like Scarlett O’Hara I can’t go my whole life waiting to catch you She wants to be like Scarlett O’Hara I can’t go my whole life waiting to catch you My love Well I won’t be angry, I won’t fight I won’t rebel, I will be good I’ll stay out of sight I’ll enter the priesthood She drives me to drink But frankly, my dear, I don’t give a shit She wants to be like Scarlett O’Hara I can’t go my whole life waiting to catch you She wants to be like Scarlett O’Hara I can’t go my whole life waiting to catch you My love

No Strings 03:15
Don’t mistake me for love, Honey I’m still leaving in the morning No strings attached With all the fun we had You should be grateful You shouldn’t play with scissors I’m no puppet on a string You cry when I’m laughing You talk when I sing Please stop your violins No strings No strings Well, I don’t cut no slack You see it’s just a fling I’ve given you enough rope With all the sways I swing It’s to my heart you cling No strings No strings No strings It’s not broken But it’s damaged beyond repair Such fragile dreams And I don’t need you there I’m sorry life’s unfair It’s not that I don’t care I cannot lie Too many questions why So don’t mistake me for love, Honey I’m still leaving in the morning No strings attached With all the fun we had You should be happy You should be happy Why aren’t you happy? No strings Mistakin’ me for love! No strings No strings

Come in, number one, now your time is up We’ll miss the boat, while you alone elope The ides of these tides Let’s go over the side I’ve been in the sun too long Did you ever notice something wrong Your blood is cold And your eyes are shot Keep firing that bullet into my feet again Come in, number one, it’s only a plastic gun Come in, number one, it’s only a plastic gun Come in, number one Come in, number one, your time is up Once more around the island Twice more to skirt around the issue Again for the comedy value alone And to make sure we’s all dizzy I was alright last time I checked Then I turn a’port and the spirit’s decked So I drown in your moonshine Somewhere o’er the stateline Where it’s a crime to be scuppered When the stakes are always peppered So I’ll stay as long as I like Yeah, I’ll stay as long as I like You’ll have to dive in and get me Come on, dive in and get me The waters’ lovely, yeah If I’m to fall in love on a whim I should have learned to swim Come in, number one, your time is up Come in, number one, was only a plastic gun Come in, number one Come in, number one Come in, number one Your time is up Your time is up Your time is up If I am to fall in love on a whim I should have learned to swim Your time is up Your time /sigh

about

The Quixotes London, UK

With infectious and highly melodic tunes, The Quixotes specialize in songs about abject misery. Straddling multiple genres including electronica, indie- rock, 80's pop and blues. The rather schizophrenically monikered Quixotes were in fact merely one Matt Black, a London- based singer- songwriter. ... more
